Beware this is a RIDE and TREK event so be prepared !!!

Valley of Flowers is a wonderful place to be visited in the month of August. It is located near Govind Ghat and the famous Hemkund Sahab Gurudwara. It was believed by the locals that the valley of flowers was inhabited by fairies. You will see beautiful flowers and far spreading meadows of endemic alpine flowers and a variety of flora which is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox and blue sheep. Colorful Birds found in the park include Himalayan Monal pheasant and other high altitude birds. The gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park also complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park located to the east. Both these National Parks encompass a unique zone of transition between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and the Great Himalayas. The park stretches over an area of 87.50 km2 and is 8 km long and 2 km wide.
